Our history began with the creation of the first Bulgarian beer – Kamenitza, in 1881. It was brewed in a small workshop of the founders of the brand, the Swiss Rudolph Frick and Frederic Sulzer, in the city of Plovdiv. In this way, over a century ago, we laid the foundations of the brewing industry in the country and now we are proud to have a spectacular history and rich brewing traditions, as well as multiple prizes from different competitions and exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad.
Throughout the years beer has become our true passion, legacy and future. It has been almost 135 years since we have started producing, innovating and creating exceptional experiences for those who appreciate good ale.
Today, not by chance, Kamenitza AD is one of the leading breweries in Bulgaria. We are the only brewery able to combine three of the internationally recognized brewing traditions – Belgian, German and Czech. We continue delighting our customers and clients through our exceptionally reach portfolio that includes Kamenitza, Astika, Burgasko, Slavena and the leading international brands Staropramen, Stella Artois and Beck’s which we produce under license. The imported brands are a priceless part of our portfolio – the Belgian Leffe Blonde, Leffe Brune, Hoegaarden, the most famous Mexican beer in the world – Corona Extra, the American craft beer Blue Moon, as well as the tempting cider – Carling Cider.
This is all possible thanks to our factory in Haskovo. The total number of our employees is 640 and this makes our team one of the largest in the brewing industry in Bulgaria.
